The New Hampshire Horse & Trail Association Rule Book is mailed out to new members.  Current members who request it, may obtain a supplement with changes that fit into the old format Rule Book cover.

The Rule Book is available as a pdf download from this website or you may access it online.  CD copies are available on request.

2019 Rule Changes -

HOUSE KEEPING CHANGES
 
Registered American Saddlebred Section
Page M1
Delete first sentence “Horses shown prior to December 1973 need not be registered.”
This sentence is no longer necessary
 
Page M2 – Section C American Saddlebred Three Gaited Country Pleasure Division
Delete all reference to “Three Gaited” in classes 1 through 6.
 
In Classes 1 & 5, add “Horses shall be required to back readily in the line.
 
In Class 3, In second sentence “Horses are required to stop and back on the rail.” Delete “and back”.
 
Page C1 – Rules and Regulations Governing Shows …
Reference to United States Equestrian Federation should be deleted and replaced by New England Horsemen’s Council and reference to the appropriate breed organization where required.
 
Page A6 – List of Past Presidents
Helen Fenton should be marked as deceased.  Correct spelling of Christi Balch’s name

Page D1 – Rule #5
Last sentence delete “ten days prior to the annual awards banquet” and change to read “Points shall become final on December 15th”

Page F3 – Open Walk Trot Equitation Division 11 and Over
Class 4A – change age range – to read “Open Walk Trot 11 to 17 Equitation.”
Class 4B – change age range – to read “Open Walk Trot 11 to 17 Equitation Championship.”
 
Add Two Classes
Class 4C – change age range – to read “Open Walk Trot 18 and over Equitation.”
Shall show at a walk and trot only.  Reverse at the walk.
Class 4D – change age range – to read “Open Walk Trot 18 and over Equitation Championship.”
Specifications same as qualifying class.  Must have been entered, shown and judged in the qualifying class.
 
 
Page J3 – Section D - Walk Trot Pleasure Division – 10 Years and Under
To description, add “This Division will accrue to two (2) NHH&TA Year End Awards: 1. Saddle Seat  2.  Hunt Seat/Western Seat.

Class 4 - “Walk, Trot Pleasure Championship Horse & Pony – 18 and over years of age”
Specifications same as qualifying class.  Must have been entered, shown and judged in the qualifying class.
 
Under the description, add the following:
A show may divide the class by age 11-17 years and 18 and over, OR, 11 and over.  To be shown at a walk, trot, jog or alternate gait both ways of the ring and will be asked to reverse at the walk.

  • MEMBERSHIP DUES should be paid before the start of the show and trail season.  Renewal forms for the 2019 season were mailed out with the year end award standings and the Annual Banquet of Champions notice.  If you didn’t receive a renewal form you can use the form on this website.
